About

As a Data Scientist on this project, I was responsible for training the Named Entity Recognition (NER) model, masakhane/afroxlmr-large-ner-masakhaner-1.0_2.0, which supports 21 African languages. The resulting Python application allows users to extract named entities from text and PDF documents, making advanced NLP accessible for a wide range of languages including Amharic, Bambara, Ewe, Fon, Hausa, Igbo, Kinyarwanda, and more.
